Transgender Rights

Hunter Principe's picture

A transgender is a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex. The transgender population has been on the rise in our progressive society that has become more accepting and respectful to these people. Transgenders struggle every day to feel comfortable in society and it takes a lot of courage to let others know their true gender identity. In politics today, there is much discussion regarding the rights transgenders should have. Some questions I have for Caucus and that have been discussed in much political debate are...

Should transgenders be able to change the gender they are legally recognized as?

Should transgenders be allowed to use the restrooms that align with the gender they identify as?

Should transgenders be able to compete in athletic events that correspond with the gender they identify as, even if they have sex reassignment surgery?
