The article "Michigan governor proposes $1M to pay off school lunch debt", talks about how many families cannot pay for their kids to have school lunches, but the school is not allowed to deny kids a lunch; therefore, there has been a collection of dept on the schools for student lunches and students have been stigmatized for not being able to pay. The Michigan Government is proposing a 1 Million dollar fund from the education budget so they can help pay off the student lunch dept. Schools that accept these funds will then be required to implement policies that will be protecting students from lunch shaming practices. Do you think that this will solve the lunch debt problem? Or are there multiple steps to creating a solution to this problem? What are other policies that you think could be implemented by schools to help solve Student lunch dept?
