Thiis article has less to do with youth criminal justice, but more so just begs an interesting legal question that pertains to Michigan and criminal justice as a whole. This article explains how a Michigan air conditioning company sued a woman $25,000 for leaving a bad yelp review. It is not legal in most states to pursue legislation against online defamation, but in Michigan no legislation has been created to prevent it. This bad review has caused the company to lose six customers a day, while the woman who was sued claims this is a complete abuse of michigan law. What do you think? How do you think cases of online defamation whould be handled?
