Meals for Public Schools

The Federal Government is looking to supply 3 meals per day for students and although they aren't free meals, it still gives students more opportunities to get the right nutrition from a young age. The article also suggests that they are looking into providing meals during the summer months as well.

I wanted to hear opinions on whether you think this would be a good idea, or if you think it would be more beneficial for the government both state and federal, to focus on providing less meals per year but allocate money towards making these little to no cost for public schools?
