Marijuana will officially become legal early next month in the state of Michigan. Younger voters rallied to the ballots in order to vote on this issue. Now citizens 21 and older in the state of Michigan will be permitted to legally smoke weed. This law has brought much discussion to college campuses. Officials at universities across the state have stated that smoking marijuana will still be prohibited on college campuses. The reason colleges are not allowing weed on campuses is because they receive large amounts of funds from the federal government, and feds still consider marijuana an illegal substance. Universities do not want to risk their funding due to this new law.
