University of Michigan Showcases New AI Ethics Center

I read a super interesting article about The University of Michigan opening a new AI ethics center. This center will focus on AI, data usage, augmented and virtual reality, privacy, open data, and identity. The rise of AI brings many positives, but also could have some detrimental effects on the status-quo of society. Countless research has been done that shows that AI picks up the sexist, racist and homophobic habits of human beings and creates biases that are harmful to humans. Additionally, privacy and information collection is a major concern regarding AI. I think that it is incredible that our school is making an effort to create a center that tackles these problems.

What do you guys think? What are your biggest concerns regarding AI? How can students help the climate that we are currently facing? Read this article and share your thoughts! Link:
