Hearing date and time confirmed!

The Spring, 2019 MSC hearing will take place 8:30-11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24 in Room 426 of the the State Capitol Building in Lansing. Details will be provided as the date gets closer, but please mark your calendars.

Work on formal proposals continues

Your work right now should be focused on:

  • Developing your formal proposal first draft (due no later than midnight, Sunday, 3/17)

  • Having online conversations that help you think through the logistics and details of how the proposal would work

  • Having consultations with real people who can give you expert insight about the problem and your proposed solution (summarizing what you learn in the Consultations section in your proposal document)

  • Giving support, advice, feedback, and perspectives to others in the caucus as they do all of the above.

Make sure you have read last Sunday’s announcement about crafting your formal proposal, and as you weigh, select, and combine your three solutions into one solution, reference Imagine cards I7, I8, and I9 in the Design Mindset deck.

Please include as much detail as possible in your formal proposal draft, but keep in mind that it is in fact a draft, and it doesn’t have to be perfect. More important is that you put in writing everything you have been thinking so far, so that others can give you feedback.

If you are working with a partner, be sure that you are both editing the document more or less equally under your own login, so that there is concrete evidence of your collaboration.

Finally: your solution should be something the State of Michigan can do to help your persona -- in other words, a law, policy, or program. Don’t ask your persona to solve the problem themselves by changing their personal behavior!
